Protest Tithing Coins

In the spirit of the Protestant Reformation, we have designed wooden protest tithing coins. These coins are the size of the American half-dollar. These coins are for those who would like to let others know about their concerns about tithing without being too confrontive. They may wish a leader in the church that they attend to be aware of the problems of the tithing doctrine without exposing themselves to serious criticism. Unfortunately, it is necessary to use a means like this with some leaders, who will regulate anyone who doesn't tithe to a negative classification. Often, instead of a believer seen as simply wanting to be free of Old Testament legalisms, a believer can be seen as uncommitted and ignorant. This is highly unfortunate but is the present reality. These coins can point another believer or a leader to the truth concern tithing without harming the relationship.

Many leaders don't realize that some that would be generous givers won't commit themselves to fellowships where tithing is taught. It is important for those who hold to principles concerning freedom in giving to make their presence known to leaders. When leaders know that teaching tithing is turning people away rather than producing more money, they will be more open to reconsidering it.

These coins can be placed in the offering plate, inside an offering envelope or mailed anonymously. For the bolder souls among us, they can be given directly in a non-committal way... "Hey, I found this website interesting. If you get a chance, tell me what you think about it." or something similar.

We have 3 coins online here for order. We will add more coins with differing messages as time goes on. We intend some coins to be more pointed than others.
